A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Maxie (Kristen Storms) told Peter (Wes Ramsey) she was tired of pretending and admitted “I plan to escape the first chance I get.” At The Metro Court, Laura (Genie Francis) was trying to take the high road as she awaited Esme’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) arrival. At Kelly’s, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told Trina (Sydney Mikalya) that Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) blew their family apart. Trina commented that sometimes you can’t help who you fall in love with. “Like you and Spencer?” Josslyn asked. Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) told Spencer he could stay at Spring Ridge for a while if his son wanted. Drew (Cameron Mathison) was certain Peter was going to mess up soon and that’s when they would get him. Spencer was annoyed he was in Spring Ridge while Peter was out free. Maxie told Peter from now on she would only give him the truth…could he say the same? Peter smirked at how Maxie had been lying and now she expected honesty. Maxie commented she got what she wanted by keeping her children far away from him. She said why do they start at the beginning with how his coming to Port Charles cost her the man she really loved, Nathan, the brother who was a better man than he’ll ever be. Laura confronted Esme on her sense of entitlement and about how she gave Kevin (Jon Linstrom) pushback when he had her access to Ryan (also Lindstrom) revoked. Olivia told Ava about Leo’s autism. Ava felt guilty for being caught up in her own life not visiting her nephew more. Olivia told Ava how Leo will know Julian as his biological dad. But Ned will be his day-to-day father. Nikolas warned Spencer not to trust Victor. But Spencer said Uncle Victor looked out for the family unless Nikolas, who wouldn’t even help get the restitution charges dropped because he’ll always put Ava first. Trina assured Josslyn she was anyone’s piece on the side when Trina told Joss about Spencer’s Valentine’s Day gift. Josslyn told Trina she and Cameron (William Lipton) had sex when they were at the cabin. Anna figured out Peter’s holding near the salt mines. But Dante realized that if they didn’t capture Peter he couldn’t easily cross the border from his location and with fake credentials, they’d never find him and be back to square one. Peter assured Maxie that Nathan dying wasn’t part of his plan. He suggested they relax with a glass of wine. But she instead knee bumped him in the groin and escaped. Peter shouted she’d never get away from him. Esme decided to skip dinner and make amends with those she’d wronged. Spencer shouted that Nikolas was the one who belonged behind bars for ordering a woman to be shot. He asked his father to leave and said he didn’t care if he ever came back. Josslyn encouraged Trina to ghost her when she received a text from Esme. But Esme was on her way to Kelly’s. When she arrived, Esme apologized to Trina and Josslyn for the trouble she caused. But Josslyn wasted no time telling her about the Valentine’s Day gift Trina received from Spencer. Ava attempted to bond with Leo over his love of art. Anna, Drew and Dante converge on Peter’s hideaway ready to make their move. Meanwhile, Maxie again found herself in the woods but it made it to the highway. She saw an approaching car.

Tuesday

Carly’s (Laura Wright) lawyer Rebecca arrived at her office at The Metro Court and questioned the amount her client was asking for a settlement. Soon, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his attorney entered. The settlement negotiations began. Sonny agreed to everything Carly asked for but said she wouldn’t get the house. Plus, he wanted to be Donna’s custodial parent stating he didn’t want her to leave her home. And as he and Ava (Maura West) were Avery’s (Ava and Grace Scarola) parents, Carly didn’t have any legal rights. Sonny asked to speak with Carly alone. Carly reminded he was the one that set things in motion by sleeping with Nina (Cynthia Watros) and now the girls were collateral damage. Sonny suggested they live together at the house and have a marriage in name only for the girls’ sake. But Carly refused, wanting them to grow up in a home where the love was real. Sonny told Carly she could have the house and he and Avery would move into the penthouse. The lawyers were called back in and told an agreement was reached. “You can draw up the divorce papers” Carly told Rebecca. At Kelly’s, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) lied that Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) told her about the present he gave Trina (Sydney Mikayla). Josslyn (Eden McCoy) accused Esme of lying, saying she was fake. She asked Esme what Spencer got Trina if he told her. Esme was annoyed that Joss was giving her a hard time when she came to apologize. She left the table and went to sit at the bar. Trina argued with Josslyn for speaking for her and making things worse. Esme watched the scene and plotted to use it to her advantage with the smart phone she brought and the video she took at the cabin of Cameron and Josslyn having sex. On Pier 55, Sam (Kelly Monaco) listened to Victor’s (Charles Shaughnessey) conversation with his henchman. She had to leave quickly when she made a noise. Victor’s henchman Uri went to investigate and said it was probably a cat. At GH, Robert (Tristan Rogers) told Laura (Genie Francis) they had a problem. He explained Felicia (Kristina Wagner) took a commercial flight to Switzerland and Mac (John J. York) was worried sick. The deputy mayor who was working for Victor eavesdropped on their conversation. Anna (Finola Hughes), Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) exchanged gunfire at the country house. Meanwhile, Maxie (Kristen Storms) signaled a passing car. She was elated when Felicia wrapped herself in her mother’s arms. Maxie told Felicia that Peter (Wes Ramsey) was after her. They jumped into the car and Felicia drove off. She explained how her message and earring at the rest stop gave Anna the information she needed to find her. Felicia added Anna, Drew and Dante were there and how she took a separate commercial flight. Maxie asked how her mother knew where to find her. Felicia told her how she remembered the conversation she had with Peter before the wedding about the place he lived in Switzerland when he was a child. Suddenly, Felicia notices headlights…they’re being followed. The car runs them off the road. Felicia is knocked unconscious. Maxie gets out of the vehicle to go for help and shouts “Come and get me Peter.” Anna, Drew and Dante entered the house. But instead of finding Peter and Maxie, they found the men Victor paid to eliminate August…including the WSB Agent who had been wounded. He lied he was on their side and came to apprehend Peter, adding exchanging gunfire was a mistake. But neither Anna nor Dante believed him. Sam came to GH and showed Laura and Robert the photo she took of Victor and his henchman who Robert later got an ID. When she learned he’d been in Austria at the time of Luke’s death, Laura her suspicions were confirmed it wasn’t an accident. The deputy mayor met with Victor on the pier and told him Sam, Laura and Robert were getting too close. Peter chased after Maxie and fired his gun. He told her she had two choices: Either come back with him. Or he’d shoot her. Maxie told Peter if he shot her it was over and he could no longer tell himself he was a good person. “You were supposed to save me. But instead you abandoned me. This is your fault” Peter said as he prepared to pull the trigger. Felicia came up from behind and hit Peter with a tire iron, knocking him off the embankment.

Wednesday

Anna (Finola Hughes) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) found the rental car on the road and realized Maxie (Kristen Storms) could be on foot running away from Peter (Wes Ramsey). Maxie told Peter if he shot her it was over and he could no longer tell himself he was a good person. “You were supposed to save me. But instead you abandoned me. This is your fault” Peter said as he prepared to pull the trigger. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) came up from behind and hit Peter with a tire iron, knocking him off the embankment. “Is he dead?” Felicia asked her daughter. “I can’t tell,” Maxie answered. At GH, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) asked Austin (Roger Howarth) what he did when he said Maxie’s situation was his fault. She said him cozying up to Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessey) put Maxie in danger. Sonny (Maurice Benard) arrived at The Tan-o, not looking for Phyllis (Joyce Guy) but for a drink. Mac (John J. York) told Robert (Tristan Rogers) he should have known Felicia wouldn’t have stayed put with Maxie in danger. Anna and Drew reached Maxie and Peter. Drew checked for a pulse…Peter was still breathing but it was faint. Peter regained consciousness and called out for Maxie. She didn’t feel sorry for him. He tried to shoot her so he was getting what he deserved. Anna assured Felicia it was self defense and she was protecting her daughter when she asked whether she was in trouble. Drew told Peter if he survived he’d spend the rest of his life in a cell which was what he deserved. Brando (Johnny Wactor) arrived at Charlie’s and joined Sonny at the bar. Sonny told him about his impending divorce from Carly (Laura Wright) and Brando told him how Sasha (Temporarily being played by Helena Mattsson) was still keeping her feelings over Liam’s death to herself. Lucy (Lynn Herring), Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Sasha had a meeting at Kelly’s to discuss the IPO launch. Sonny left a drunk message on Nina’s voicemail, commenting how he was more Mike and she liked Mike. Sasha agreed to go away with Brando but realized she’d need to take something to get through it. Anna stayed with Peter when Drew, Maxie and Felicia left for the road. She admitted she didn’t call for an ambulance because she wanted to make sure it ended. Anna sadly told Peter no one deserved to die alone. His arrogance and entitlement to control things made him so like his father. But she had cared for him once when she thought he was her son and hoped he’d find peace wherever he ended up. Peter reached for Anna’s hand and she held his hand as he died. Anna closed his eyes, wiped the tears from her eyes and went to join the others. Anna told Maxie that Peter had died and offered her comfort and support for they both once loved him but were relieved it was finally over. At GH, Chase (Josh Swickward) and Brook Lynn brought Louise to visit Mac. He received a call from Felicia who told him she found Maxie and she was okay. As news of Peter’s death spread, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) drank to celebrate Henrik’s passing. Austin checked to see how Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) was doing. Britt said she was glad Faison’s (Andre Hove) bloodline ended with Peter. Chase and Brook Lynn kissed. Sonny got ready to leave Charlie’s and decided he could drive himself home because it wasn’t too far. But then he saw Nina.

Thursday

Carly (Laura Wright) looked over the divorce paperwork when Ava (Maura West) entered her office at The Metro Court. Carly told Ava she and Sonny were divorcing and he was moving into his penthouse. She asked Ava to help her remain in Avery’s life. Sonny (Maurice Bernard) woke up on the couch at his penthouse at The Harbor View Towers with Nina (Cynthia Watros) watching him. He made them for breakfast. Anna (Finola Hughes) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) received applause when they stepped off the elevator at GH. Mac (John J. York) got out of his wheelchair and greeted his wife with a kiss. Robert (Tristen Rogers) told Anna he recommended her for the Key to the City. But Anna didn’t feel like a hero…she didn’t do right by Peter (Wes Ramsey). Anna felt Peter was her responsibility and she let him down. Robert encouraged Anna not to allow Peter to be that voice on her shoulder causing her to question herself and actions. Maxie (Kristen Storms) came to Chase (Josh Swickward) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) place to pick up Louise. When Chase and Brook Lynn left the room to get Louise, Maxie told Ned (Wally Kurth) Brook Lynn has been Louise’s mother for almost a year…her daughter doesn’t know her. Stella (Verneen Watson) told Portia (Brooke Kerr) her concern Marshall’s (Robert Gossett) past could hurt Curtis (Donnell Turner). At Volonino’s Gym, Marshall met Drew (Cameron Mathison) who later told him to get his number from Curtis because he had a proposition for him. Mac was eager to see Maxie. Felicia told Mac she had no regrets for what she had to do to protect her family. Maxie told Brook Lynn that Louise’s name from now on will be Bailey Louise…Bailey Lou. And if Maxie was Mommy, Brook Lynn would be Momma. Ned comforted his daughter when Brook Lynn cried in his arms after Maxie left with Bailey. Ava reminded Carly how she berated her for years and even tried to keep her away from Avery. She added she didn’t need Carly to put in a good word with Sonny when her good friend Nina carried more weight with him. Carly called Nina a Flavor of the Month, adding she outlasted every other woman Sonny was ever interested in. With that, Ava told Carly she would make sure she remained in Avery’s life. Nina expressed concern for Sonny because of his drinking.

Friday

Sam (Kelly Thiebauld) was worried when she found Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) at GH. But he was just there for a follow-up. Michael (Chad Duell) told Monica (Leslie Charleson) that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) wasn’t having difficulty obtaining her divorce. Harmony spoke with Alexis (Nancy Grahan) on the phone and said she planned to tell Willow she wasn’t her daughter today. Drew (Cameron Mathison) came to Carly’s (Laura Wright) office at Crimson and told her about Peter’s demise. They also talked about Jason (Steve Burton). Drew commented about their almost kiss. Sam told Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) that Peter was dead and his reign of terror in Port Charles was over. Sonny (Maurice Benard) asked Nina (Cynthia Watros) to consider he was drinking because he liked it. When she went into the other room, Dante arrived. He told Sonny that Peter was dead and said he was there if his dad needed to talk about the man who killed Jason. Sonny told Dante he drank too much after meeting with Carly and the lawyers about the divorce. He added that since he was a little hungover they’d have to talk some other time. Dante reminded he was there if his dad needed him then left. Nina came out and commented Sonny not telling Dante she was there was a sign their kiss was a mistake. Carly asked Drew whether Sonny knew Peter was dead and decided to go over the penthouse to make sure he was okay. Sean (Sean Blakemore) came to Alexis’ office at The Invader and told her about an opportunity that would have him moving to the West Coast. But he was hesitant as he wondered whether them coming back into each other’s lives was a second chance. Harmony came over to the Quartermaine mansion and lied to Willow that she called in a favor with a contact and Willow’s birth certificate was located. Elizabeth told Finn about the dressing she wore when she married Franco (Roger Howarth) being shredded and later called Franco’s adoptive mother. Michael, Monica and Willow drank a toast to Jason. Harmony paid a forger to create a fake birth certificate for Willow. When she turned around, Sean was standing behind here. As Nina and Sonny started to leave the penthouse, he opened the door as Drew and Carly arrived.
