#PrisonBreak S5Ep6 Phaecia Review via @stacyamiller85 @PBWritersRoom @PrisonBreak

The latest episode of Prison Break gave viewers the thrill of the chase, desert style.

When a series is named Prison Break, in simplized terms, you know that you will be seeing a prison break. Because if not, it might as well be called ‘A Bunch of Guys Locked Up.’  Not to say that some gritty and interesting drama can’t happen behind bars (Case in point, the Australian prison drama Wentworth).  But for the purposes of Prison Break, we have to see our protagonists break out.  But first, there has to be build up leading to the escape i.e. the planning.  And our resident jail break planner is Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller).  But poor Michael had some challenges executing this break, more difficult than any he encountered in Fox River. But in the end, the prison break did happen and the guys are now on the outside…let the fun begin!

Not necessary fun for them, but for us viewers it was an adelaine pumping trek .  You see, in the episode “Phaecia,” Scofield and company were seen in their vehicle making their getaway through the desert. Picture this, an open space with no where to hide and being pursued by people who would no sooner kill you then return you to captivity.  Plus, you’re in the desert…what kind of help is Google Maps? “Straight ahead sand…turn right, more sand.  Keep driving and you’ll see sand.”  I felt badly for them just watching.  In addition to the sand, I’m sure the heat was unbearable.

And for Michael Scofield, he always feels as though he has to be the one with all the answers.  To make all the decisions. In the previous episode, his brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) reminded him that he didn’t always have to go at it alone.  But Linc, have you met Michael? He WILL attempt to do it alone.  I don’t think he does it because he has trust issues, I think it’s because he’s used to operating under his own plan.  I don’t know whether that will ever change. Unfortunately, now Michael is injured and he will have to rely on help, particularly older brother Lincoln.  I mentioned how much I wanted to see Lincoln more involved in the escape after the first few episodes of the season.  I’m happy that he has stepped up to the plate. With Michael injured, it will be up to Lincoln to get the boat that will help them escape to another country. I have every confidence that Lincoln won’t let Michael down.

We got to see a little more of the agents of Poseidon, in particular, A &W (I don’t recall her name actually being mentioned on the series. If it was, I must have missed it. Thank goodness for IMDB! I wonder what the initials stand for, though).  As played by Marina Benedict, she’s the perfect agent.  She has a job to do.  But she may take some time to have some fun from the exchange we got between A &W and the other female agent (again, who’s name I missed). After the death of Sid, it’s good to see another character to represent the LGBT community on Prison Break (though we don’t know whether A& W is lesbian or bisexual). Regardless, A & W is a cool villain to watch.

This season of Prison Break is shaping up to be a good one.  There’s so much going on that I wonder how will the writers cram so much story into the last two remaining episodes of the season. I’m hoping that we get a Season Six, I can’t imagine we’re anywhere near a story end for these guys.
