“Who gets married on Friday the 13th?”- Lulu

Or funeral depending on who you ask (grandmother of the groom Bobbie even wore a black dress for the occasion). A wedding is supposed to be a happy event for an engaged couple as they are joining their lives and planning for their future. But for Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Michael (Chad Duell), their reasons for tying the knot aren’t entirely about the desire to be together. Nelle is hungry for love and acceptance (not to mention a rich husband). However, she worries that all her dreams won’t come true even when she’s Michael’s wife. And the marriage is just part of Michael’s plan to help prove Nelle set up his mother Carly (Laura Wright). If the bride knew her future husband was using the happiest day of her life as a ploy to trick her, she’d be furious and want to kill him.

Chloe Lanier and Chad Duell have really pulled out all the stops in this story. I know there are a few General Hospital viewers that aren’t fans of the Nelle character, but you have to admit Lanier is taking no prisoners with her portrayal of the mentally unstable and dangerous young woman.

Will Michael’s plan work? He has the help of Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickward) to implement it and the support of the PCPD.  But will Nelle outsmart them? It does look like her insecurities are revealing themselves; especially in the scenes where Chase is trying to convince her of his love and how he wants to take care of she and the baby. And Nelle’s well played plan to convince everyone Carly was crazy is starting to unravel, courtesy of a cologne bottle and baby blanket.

Although she seemed to believe the explanation her future sister-in-law (maybe) provided, Josslyn walking in on Nelle and Chase in a kiss may have caused the teen to question Nelle’s commitment to Michael.

Will Carly’s unexpected arrival at The Metro Court interrupt the ceremony and throw a wrench in both Nelle and Michael’s plans for their marriage? Stay Tuned.
