Kimberly McCullough #GH ‘s Robin Scorpio-Drake Directs #TheBoldType S3Ep9 “Final Push” Airing 6/4/19 via @stacyamiller85 @whitewatercrew @BoldTypeWriters @TheBoldTypeTV

Long time General Hospital fans know the name Kimberly McCullough.

In 1985 at the tender age of seven, McCullough began playing General Hospital’s Robin Scorpio daughter of super WSB spies Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). Unlike most soap characters who suffer from SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome where they rapidly age in television time), Robin (and Kimberly) grew up before soap audience’s eyes.Β  She was part of a historic 1995 General Hospital storyline when a teenage Robin contacted HIV from her boyfriend Stone (Michael Sutton) who later died of full blown AIDS. Robin became a doctor, married neurosurgeon Dr. Patrick Drake and is the mother of Emma and Noah. The role of General Hospital’s Robin has earned McCullough two Daytime Emmy Awards and other accolades.

But Kimberly McCullough is not only an actress but also a producer and talented director. She’s directed such shows as The Conners and One Day at a Time. McCullough returns to the director’s helm for The Bold Type. The episode she directed airs this week on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 and is titled “Final Push.”

It’s good to see women as directors. Here’s to continued success for Kimberly in all her entertainment pursuits whether it be acting, producing and directing. And hoping Robin makes another visit real soon to Port Charles.
