Are you a fan of the hit cult television series Angel? Are looking for new adventures based on the vampire with a soul?
Angel aired October 5, 1999 until May 19, 2004 for five seasons of 110 episodes on the now defunct The WB Network. It was a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and saw the tortured vampire with a soul move from the Hellmouth of Sunnydale to the gritty streets of Los Angeles where Angel continued his quest for redemption by fighting the good fight by helping the helpless against evil.
When Angel aired its series finale “Not Fade Away,” the remaining members of Team Angel faced the creatures of evil law firm Wolfram and Hart’s apocalypse with Angel uttering the line “Let’s go to work.” Then…fade away to black.
Fortunately, Angel Season 6 continued in a canonical comic book series called After the Fall (2007-2011). With the popularity of the Angel franchise, there have been other comic adaptations presenting new stories.
One of these is Angel Volume One: Being Human by Bryan Hill with illustrations by
. It was released on October 1, 2019. In Angel Volume One: Being Human, Angel is still on his quest for redemption. He hears about a demon known as a trickster who offers Angel his humanity back. The trickster says it can cure him of his vampire curse but wants one small thing: Angel must sacrifice a Slayer in order to be a man again. Will Angel target Buffy or Faith?
