Denial Movie Review from @kleffnotes

Everyone at some point in their life has probably been in denial about something. Whether it be about an event in your life, something happening in the world around you, or perhaps even something in your own personality, denial has happened at some point. The documentary, Denial, examines a son, his father, climate change, and how denial has impacted all of these things. When Denial begins it appears to be a film focused on climate change and how the Hallquist family, especially the father and son, have been impacted The Grid and ideas connected to climate change, but then it shifts into a discussion of the father and the reveal of a deep personal truth that leads to unexpected feelings of denial. The Cleaners Movie Review from @kleffnotes

The Cleaners is a provocative documentary that will be screening at the 29th Human Rights Watch Film Festival in New York City. While this film is not part of the opening night events, I was given the opportunity to view it in advance. Directed by Hans Block and Moritz Riesewieck, The Cleaners explores social media moderating, with a focus on Google and Facebook. This film explores just who is placed in charge of moderating worldwide content and how deleting or ignoring certain content can alter the national dialogue and events throughout the world. As a true crime fanatic I was exceptionally excited to learn about Audible‚Äôs original series West Cork. This documentary style series examines the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in the small Irish town of Schull in West Cork. Throughout the 13 episodes listeners are provided with not just information about the case itself, but also a detailed analysis of how such an unexpected event changed the people and the perceptions of the town of Schull itself through the work of investigative journalist Sam Bungey and documentarian Jennifer Forde. PBS Reveals The Secrets of the Dead

I know I don’t normally talk about documentaries on here, but I watched this really cool vampire documentary sponsored by PBS on dvd this week and wanted to share it with you.
