Can best friends embark on romance without ruining their friendship if the relationship fails?
That may be the question Preston Wainwright (Bret Green) is asking himself. He recently admitted that he is in love with long-time best friend Veronica (Erica Marie Sanchez).
What I like about Preston and Veronica, as played by Green and Sanchez, is the natural comfort they display as their characters. Their scenes are realistic. You can imagine these two have been friends forever but now their feelings for each other are changing. There is uncertainty and fear.
Now, Veronica has been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study aboard in Italy and Preston wants to be happy for her but is feeling sad and angry at the possibility that she is leaving. Unfortunately, he has allowed himself to express his feelings in a way that hurt Veronica. But after talking with his mother and remembering a conversation with his father, Preston realized his mistake and set to make things right with Veronica. But in the tender moment between the two, Preston felt something that he hadn’t felt in a long time, which will be an interesting development for season two.
I’m personally torn regarding a romantic relationship between Preston and Veronica. Whereas I think they make a great couple, they have a special friendship that is rare to see on television.
The Nerdy Girl Express would love to hear what viewers think.
