I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. The saga of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, who were mother and daughter and best friends always touched me more than any other series I’ve ever watched on television. Probably because I value a strong mother/daughter relationship. Our mothers are the first women we meet in our lives and help shape the women we become ourselves.
Another reason for my love of Gilmore Girls lies in its depiction of small town life. The idea that neighbors care about each other and the town events shown on the series made Stars Hollow the place I wished I could have lived. When Gilmore Girls was canceled after seven seasons in 2007, I was sadden. Like the coffee the Gilmore ladies consumed like water, I was addicted to the show (and brilliant opening theme sung by Carole King). How would I make it without my weekly Lorelai and Rory fix?
After a nine year long wait, fans like myself will have the joy of coming back to Stars Hollow. Thanks to Netflix, Gilmore Girls has been revived as a limited run series starting November, 2016.
But that’s not all. The Nerdy Girl Express writer and poet Tracy Miller has published a collection of poetry inspired by Gilmore Girls in her upcoming book Where You Lead, I Will Follow: A Collection of Gilmore Girls Poetry. The book will be released on September 9.

This book offers a poetic feast to whet the appetite of Gilmore Girls fans until the main course of the series revival is served.
