Mr. Crypt and his lovable rat return for the third and final installment of this series. Our skeletal friend is off on an exciting vacation while Baron Rat has his own fun alone at home in this family friendly story.
As he heads out to work Mr. Crypt finds a letter on his doorstep inviting him to go on a vacation. As a living skeleton he hasn’t ever been on one before and with some help from Baron Rat he finds the perfect tropical disguise. When he boards the boat he learns that only one person is on board, Captain Bartholomew Candlewax. He needed someone to help him find the golden skeleton on a mysterious and dangerous island. Candlewax is not a particularly adept explorer and gets captured. Mr. Crypt must find a way to save him, which leads him to reveal his true identity. With all of this excitement going on, Baron Rat has been throwing a wild country western party for all the animals in the neighborhood.
The Mr. Crypt comics are such a cute and fun read. What made this addition even more fun was the inclusion of Baron Rat throughout the story. While Mr. Crypt was trying to figure out a way to survive his vacation having the little cut scenes back to his home were delightful. I also really enjoyed the reveal of his secret identity in order to save Bartholomew Candlewax. I hope to see Mr. Crypt again in the future because these short little stories make me smile.
