Planet Jimbot has announced that their comic, Savant, has been selected by Dark Horse Comics to appear in the March through August run of their multi-Eisner Award winnning publication Dark Horse Presents.
The creators of this comic first came together at the 2012 Kapow Comic Convention in London: Jim Alexander (writer), Willer Pickering (artist), and Fin Cramb (colorist). Jim Campbell was then brought in as letterer to complete the team. Savant was launched at Plan B in Glasgow in 2013 and began to receive notable press reviews. In 2014 Dark Horse Publisher, Mike Richardson contacted them about acquiring the comic for the company’s flagship book. The story will total 48 pages, with the first 24 adapted from the original Savant book and an additional 24 created to complete the story.
Savant introduces the character Lode from the plant Savant. She decides to travel the universe and chronicle the lives of the dying. While she is not a harbinger of death, she is drawn to death and travels to a number of war zones. During her journey she arrives at the planet Hubris, which has been torn apart by war. She is tasked with finding war criminals and in her search she is brought to the mouth of madness, the End of Days itself. While Savant is appearing in Dark Horse Presents Jim Alexander and Will Pickering will continue to work on their Wolf Country series, the seventh issue will be released soon. You can purchase work from Planet Jimbot through their Etsy store.
