This is the third book of Dana’s fantasy-romance series, The Three Keys. Keeping more towards the “things that could actually happen” situations, this fantasy has the right mixture of magic, myth, and adventure.
I’m not gonna pull any punches with you guys, this book would not be able to stand alone, as it picks right up after the events of Book 2. That being said, each book will leave you wanting the next installment.
Let’s do a little catch up before I throw you into Book 3.
In Book 1, Beyond Darkened Sky, we meet Sara, a psychiatrist in New York, who has crazy nightmares that aren’t actually nightmares. These horrid dreams turn out to be Soltari, a mighty powerful entity, that’s calling out to her as she is the only hope for humanity against a most deadly threat. Now, we can’t forget Kevin. Kevin is a colleague of Sara’s….or is he…..
Perhaps he’s a mighty warrior who has promised to protect Sara across time and space…from a thousand years ago…..
Too bad Sara cannot remember him nor anything from her past lives….
Now Book 2, A Light Within, throws you deeper into the mystery, as Sara is pushed into a quest for three keys, hidden long ago across the world…..
The problem here, a demon lord named Tarsamon is very close to having his hands on them. The rush of this book excites you for the continuation of Sara and Kevin’s story.
Now here we are at Book 3. This one, as I’ve said, picks up after Book 2, Sara and crew barely manage to escape Scotland with their lives and that first key. Now Sara is in the depths of the Yucatan jungle, looking for the second key. I can’t even imagine having to trek through that humidity, though if the fate of humankind was on my shoulders, then I’d just have to do what I have to do. As Sara’s on her journey to do so, she must solve Mayan riddles….but it’s getting pretty hard to trust people..after some events that happened in Book 2.
Finding that magic is rooted in history, as I believe is really is, just look around, though as we learn, not all magic is good and vice versa. They have to find the light in the dark, as we all must. They’ve only got everyone in the entire world to worry about…..
And of course what this bizarre bond with Kevin truly is, I have a feeling it’s not what we think…..
Looking forward to the next installment.
