Will Jackson was happily living his life as a correctional officer at Wentworth Prison where he worked alongside his wife, Meg who was the facility’s governor.
This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen Wentworth, please do not continue reading.
But then Jackson’s life was turned upside down when Meg was killed during a prisoner riot. He vowed to find his wife’s killer and wrongly was lead to believe that Jacs Holt committed the crime. As part of Governor Joan Ferguson’s revenge plot, Will learns that Franky Doyle was the murderer (though it was an accident).
Governor Ferguson was furious when Will only punches a wall and not Franky, as she hoped that by injuring Doyle, he’d play right into her hands.
Will is a fair law enforcement officer who’d probably make an excellent governor. He’s supportive to his co-workers as well as a loyal friend.
I’d like to see Will move on with Rose. It’s obvious that they have feelings for each other, and she is the perfect woman to help mend his broken heart over the loss of his wife. I also like the friendship he’s developed with Bea Smith, proving prisoner and guard can have a relationship of respect and trust.
