When there is a character that sparks passion among viewers, it’s a testament to not only the writing but the actor.
Alycia Debnam-Carey is one of those actors. Â Fans of The CW’s The 100 fell in love with her strong portrayal of Lexa. As the Commander of The Grounders, Lexa was a forced to be reckon with. Â She was powerful and didn’t back down from a fight.
When Lexa met Clarke Griffin, one of the teens sent from The Ark in the sky to determine if the Earth was habitable, the two developed a respect for each other’s roles as leaders who would do whatever it takes to protect their people. Â That respect turned into an attraction. Â Dubbed by shipping fans as Clexa, this pairing stirred strong emotions within The 100Â fandom.
For the LGBT community, Clexa was a symbol of strength. Â However, when Lexa was killed off the backlash due to her death was equally strong as many were adamant in their belief that the character deserved better. Alycia Debham-Carey took Lexa from the page to the screen and made her unforgettable.
Debnam-Carey continues to impress in her new role as Alicia on Fear The Walking Dead. Â Here is an performer to watch.
