The comic book geeks of the world owe a big debt of gratitude to Stan Lee. If it wasn’t for his imagination and talent, we would have never had known Spiderman, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four and X-Men to name a few. Lee is the co-creator of these superheroes and comic book icons, along with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. He is basically the father of Marvel.
Stan Lee was born Stanley Martin Lieber on December 28, 1922 in New York City. Young Stanley Lieber got his start working at Timely Comics, which was a part of Pulp Magazine, as an assistant in 1939. By the 1960s, Timely Comics would become Marvel. His first entry into comics was for Captain America which he wrote under the pen name Stan Lee. Stanley Lieber legally adopted the moniker Stan Lee.
