BehindTheNerdyGirl: Friday the 13th Traditions via @erinwise82

It’s Friday the 13th…..Jason wants to come out and play.

I’m a huge fan of creepy and weird. When Friday the 13th comes around, I get giddy. I even have Friday the 13th traditions……that I now include my children in on.
My kids you ask? Absolutely! They’re going to be weirdos just like me lol.

While a lot of people will be superstitious on this day, I will be getting ready for an evening of…dun dun dun….movies. Yep, movies.

First we shall baked some “killer” cookies…though cupcakes may be an interesting treat this time around. Bloody red frosting….Maybe a boneyard cake. The possibilities are endless.

Next, we’ll move everything out of the living room and throw blankets on the floor. We’ll grab all of our Friday the 13th films and make some popcorn. Now, during all of this, the three of us will already be planning ways to scare the crap out of each other. This game I usually win, as they have yet to master the proper scare techniques. I know I’ll be in for it when they do.

After watching the first movie, we’ll take a walk…looking for the spooky…checking out the moon. My youngest always says the moon looks super scary on Friday the 13th and he loves it.

We’ll go back inside to continue the second movie…then on to my favorite part, the third in the series. We’ll follow-up with sharing ghostly stories with flashlights, before falling asleep.

Friday the 13th is like a mini holiday to us and we sure do make it fun.

Do you have any Friday the 13th traditions you’d like to share? Is Friday the 13th, just too much for you and you try to avoid all together? Is it just another day to you? Share your thoughts with me!

***I have never ever let my kids believe any movie was real. They know without a doubt all these scary movies are fake. We’ve even watched the making of most the films we’ve watch together***
***I also watch the edited versions with them, as of right now***
