A new weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.
Monday
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn (Michael Easton) flirted with each other before taking their romance to the next level by finally making love. Michael (Chad Duell) continued to pretend he believed Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and was there to support her while calling Spinelli to get proof of her lies. Liesl (Kathleen Gati) tortured Peter (Wes Ramsey) by blindfolding and gagging him and forcing him to listen to a recording on her cell phone of ‘Three Blind Mice.’ She reasoned that her persuasion would get Peter to confess sooner and suggested Nina (Michelle Stafford) return to Port Charles to check on Maxie (Kristen Storms). Chase (Josh Swickard) stopped by to see Maxie and offered to donate to charity the necklace Peter had given her. His comment about some people being good liars made Maxie curious. After Nina left, Peter took a different approach with Liesl and tried to convince Obrecht they were on the same side and that their real enemy was Anna as she’s stolen from both of them. He suggested they join forces against Anna. An angry Liesl threw a glass vase at Peter, who eyed the broken shards with the hope of using them to cut through his binds. On the witness stand, Jason (Steve Burton) was able to answer D.A. Dawson’s (Elizabeth Hendricksen) question of whether he thought Carly (Laura Wright) was crazy when she pushed Nelle down the stairs by saying that he couldn’t answer that because he wasn’t a psychiatrist. After the closing statements of the Diane (Carolyn Hennesey) and D.A. Dawson, the judge retired to his chamber to deliberate. When he returned, he found Carly not guilty by reason of temporary insanity. But instead of sentencing her to Shadybrooke as predicted, Carly was remanded to Ferncliff. As she sat in her cell at the facility for the criminally insane, Carly vowed she’d do whatever she needed to return home. At the courthouse as she gloated over Carly’s situation, Nelle ran into a face from her past..Chase.
Tuesday
After watching his best friend being sentenced to a mental facility for the criminally insane, Jason (Steve Burton) blew off steam by shooting pool at Jake’s. Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrived and the two talked. Over a game, Sam told Jason that she’s gone back into the PI business partnering with Curtis (Donnell Turner) while Jason shared his frustration over not being able to keep Carly out of Ferncliff. Jason recalled the first time Carly ended up in Ferncliff. He and Sam tried to figure out a way to get her out. Oscar (Garren Stitt) was staying with Drew (Billy Miller) at the Quartermaine mansion while Kim (Tamara Braun) goes away for the weekend with Julian (Willian deVry). At General Hospital, Lucas and Julian talked about Brad and Lucas’ adopting a baby. At the courthouse, Nelle (Chloe Lanier) was surprised to run into Chase (Josh Swickard). We learned that Josh was the cop who investigated the case when Nelle was accused of being responsible for her fiancée Zack’s kayak drowning death. Chase had fallen in love with Nelle and ended up trashing his career due to their relationship. Detective Chase had to start over. Chase accused Nelle of using him to get out of a murder charge. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) gave Michael (Chad Duell) a small processor called “Raspberry Pie” to use on Nelle’s computer to copy files and keep an eye on what she’s doing in real time. Michael told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) the bad news about Carly (Laura Wright) but assured their mother was strong and would get through her time at Ferncliff because of her love for her children. Spinelli brought Georgie to see Maxie and to meet the little girl’s new baby brother. He tried to convince Maxie (Kristen Storms) to focus on the good things instead of berating herself over being duped by Peter. Meanwhile, Peter managed to reach the glass shard and began cutting through his binds. But he was caught by Liesl (Kathleen Gati), who bashed his hand with a baseball bat for trying to escape. When Nina (Michelle Stafford) returned, Liesl warned her to not show sympathy to Peter and stick to the plan. Peter asked Nina whether she thought she could control her aunt before Liesl did something and dragged Nina down with her. Kim and Julian’s second date was a weekend camping trip. Julian questioned Kim about the medical records of a woman planning on giving her baby up for adoption. Nelle returned to the Quartermaine mansion and told Michael how she ran into someone she knew from Florida. Meanwhile, Chase looked at an old photograph of he and Nelle together.
Wednesday
In Ferncliff, Carly (Laura Wright) was determined to stay strong and focused to go home. Unfortunately, she ran into a problem when she met Supervising Nurse Mary Pat (Patricia Bethune), a Nurse Ratched type who called her Caroline and reminded the rich, Metro Court owner that she (Mary Pat) was the one in charge at Ferncliff. Nurse Mary Pat even forced Carly to take medication that she didn’t need. Nina (Michelle Stafford) met with Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) at The Floating Rib. After telling her that they have gone into the PI business together, Ashford and McCall asked Nina to help them find Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Sonny (Maurice Benard) told Mike (Max Gail) about Carly being placed in a mental hospital. Mike suggested they break her out. Franco (Roger Howarth) was furious after reading the article about Kiki’s (Hayley Erin) sexual harassment and angrily confronted Dr. Bensch (James DePaiva). Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) arrived in time to stop Franco from assaulting Dr. Bensch. Ava was furious and questioned Griffin about whether he knew what was happening with Kiki. Later, Ava was hurt when Kiki accused her mother of looking at sex as a strategy and weapon. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) gave Alexis (Nancy Grahn) a one-of-a-kind recording of her mother singing. He left when he received a call from Nina, who told him she wanted a divorce. But announcing her intention of ending their marriage was an excuse to get Valentin away from Windemere while Sam and Curtis searched the place for proof that Valentin had an escape plan for Peter. Jason (Steve Burton) interviewed with Nurse Mary Pat for a janitor’s job so he could rescue Carly.
Thursday
Sam (Kelly Monaco) found an invoice for the charter of a private plane that she believed Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) had planned to use to whisk Peter (Wes Ramsey) out of the country. Valentin refused to grant Nina (Michelle Stafford) an uncontested divorce. Instead he wrote out a contract on a napkin; he requested Nina give him 30 days to prove to her that their love was rare and worth fighting for and if he was unable to do so at the end of the 30 days, he would sign the divorce papers. When Valentin returned home, Sam and Curtis confronted him about the invoice. He told them that Peter had stolen his cell phone during the escape and used it to charter the plane but never arrived for the flight. During her therapy session with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), Alexis (Nancy Grahn) told him about her mother’s watch. Alexis believed that she was following the same destructive pattern as her mother of being drawn to dangerous men. Nurse Mary Pat gave Jason a tour of Ferncliff and he saw Carly (Laura Wright) through the door of her hospital room. He also met chief orderly Rupert Watson, who warned Jesse Nichols (Jason) to stick to mopping the floors and leave the patients to the professionals. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) told Franco she knew her parents wouldn’t come to her wedding because she was used to them disappointing her. Dr. Bensch tried to intimidate Kiki (Hayley Erin) to recant her claim that he sexually harassed her. Griffin (Matt Cohen) came to her rescue. But later the sleazy doctor took a photo on his cell phone of Kiki and Griffin hugging. Carly heard Jason’s voice but wondered whether she imagined it because of the drugs she had been given. Dr. Kevin Collins entered her hospital room promising to help her.
Friday
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn (Michael Easton) decided to take their relationship public. Anna was relieved to finally be free of her secrets. Finn helped Anna celebrate Peter’s birthday. Drew (Billy Miller) and Oscar (Garren Stitt) had lunch together. Oscar wished his mother was dating Drew instead of Julian Jerome (William deVry). Drew told Oscar about the flash drive and how it could help restore his (Drew) memories. Kevin explained to Carly (Laura Wright) that with Laura away in France with Spencer he’s taken on extra hours at Ferncliff. Carly told him about being set up by Nelle, Nurse Mary Pat over medicating her and asked for his help in getting her out of the mental hospital for the criminally insane. Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) bashed hand became infected. As Nina (Michelle Stanford) sent Liesl (Kathleen Gati) to get antibiotics to help fight the infection, Peter begged Nina to let him go before she ended up in prison for murder. On her way back to the cabin, Liesl ran into Kim (Tamara Braun) and Julian while they were camping in the woods. Peter told Nina about dropping the flash drive needed to restore Drew’s memories. Nina left the cabin to check out his story. Peter discovered a rattlesnake at the foot of the bed. His screams were heard by Kim, Julian and Liesl. Nina ran into Drew at The Floating Rib. Mike confessed that he saw Sonny dig the hole in Croton and put the body in and admitted he removed it to protect his son.
