Last week was Halloween and General Hospital had its own version of “The Headless Horseman.”

Ferncliff nurse Mary Pat (Patricia Bethune) became the latest victim of serial killer Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). The psychopath even went so far as to cut off poor Mary Pat’s head and put it in an apple bobbing barrel!

To create the realistic looking severed head, the special effects team at VVDFX headed (no pun intended) by Vincent Van Dyke worked their magic. And Patricia walked us through the process in the video below:

Patricia was such a good sport and an extreme professional to sit through what I’m sure was a long process to get Mary Pat’s head just right.  And we applaud the artistry of VVDFX.
