This October the television series Angel about the champion vampire with a soul celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Angel aired for five seasons from 1999-2004 on the now defunct The WB Network. It was a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and saw the tortured vampire with a soul move from the Hellmouth of Sunnydale to the gritty streets of Los Angeles where Angel continued his quest for redemption by fighting the good fight by helping the helpless against evil.
It was announced on Tuesday that the cast will reunited at a panel at New York Comic Con. Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Alexis Denisof (Wesley), J. August Richards (Gunn), Amy Acker (Fred/Illyria) and James Marsters (Spike) will be in the panel at New York Comic Con October 3 to 6, 2019 located at the Javits Center.
Unfortunately, the Angel panel will be missing Angel as David Boreanaz, currently starring in CBS’ Seal Team, will not be appearing. Sadly, also absent are Glenn Quinn who played Doyle. Quinn passed away on December 3, 2002 and Andy Hallet who played karaoke demon Lorne. Hallet passed away March 29, 2009.
Boreanaz hinted at an Angel reunion when he appeared on CBS’ The Talk back in March. His commitment in filming Seal Team may be the reason why he can’t attend New York Comic Con.
It will be good seeing Team Angel again as they celebrate this milestone anniversary.
