The Rookie returns for Season 5 on September 25, 2022. The Rookie moves to Tuesdays beginning January 3, 2023.

Season 5 Episode 21 is titled “Going Under” Here is the synopsis: ” Officer Lucy Chen goes undercover to infiltrate an illegal firearm operation, and Detective Harper and Officer John Nolan work together to solve a mystery involving severed limbs found around the city.”
