Glowing jack-o-lantern beside popcorn and an old television on Halloween night

Here’s What I’m Watching on Halloween — What’s on Your List?

Erin’s Halloween Watch List 2026

Halloween night is not the time to spend 45 minutes scrolling through six different streaming services trying to decide what to watch. I want the lineup ready, the snacks handled, and the lights low.

And obviously Freddy is showing up somewhere because it’s Halloween and I have standards.

Freddy. Obviously.

My first pick is A Nightmare on Elm Street. And by that, I mean 1, 3, 4, and 5. Yes, I realize that is technically four movies. No, I do not care. They count as one because them’s the house rules. My house rules, that is. 😉

Freddy has always been my favorite, and Halloween without him just doesn’t feel right. Give me the glove, the boiler room, the ridiculous one-liners, and all the wonderfully weird Nightmare logic.

Just don’t bring Part 2 into this. We have standards here.

Now Let’s Actually Get Creepy

Then I’m going with Rob Zombie’s Halloween movies.

There are a million arguments people can have about which version of Michael they prefer, and everybody is entitled to their opinion. For me, though, Rob Zombie’s movies are genuinely freaking scary.

They’re dark. They’re dirty. They’re uncomfortable. They have exactly the kind of atmosphere I want when it’s actually Halloween night.

Those movies bring the spooky vibes beautifully.

Sometimes you want fun horror. Sometimes you want to sit there thinking, “Well, this was a terrible decision and now every noise in my house is Michael.”

Halloween is the night for both.

And Then We Need a Little Hocus Pocus

Of course I’m ending with Hocus Pocus because everyone needs a little Hocus Pocus in their life.

You need Winifred. You need Sarah. You need Mary. You need Halloween in Salem.

And most importantly: BOOOOOOOK.

There are movies I watch because they scare me, movies I watch because I love them, and movies that just feel like a holiday.

Hocus Pocus is Halloween.

Your Turn

That’s my Halloween 2026 lineup: Freddy, Michael, and the Sanderson sisters.

Now I want yours.

You get three picks for Halloween night. And yes, apparently a franchise marathon can count as one pick if you decide it does because I have already destroyed the integrity of this entire system.

No rules. No judgment. And no pretending you’re choosing something sophisticated because other people are watching.

What are you putting on?
