Ni-Ni-Ni-Ni-Ni-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nickelodeon!

Did you sing the title of this article? If you remember that theme song than you definitely need to keep reading because I’ve got some great news for you about some of Nickelodeon’s upcoming movie plans.

Alright, so after learning about this movie news from fellow Nerdy Girl Express writer, Erin, I tried to do a bit more research. It turns out that Paramount Pictures and Viacom are teaming up to create a Nick Toons movie, with Jared Hess as director and one of the writers. Hess directed Napoleon Dynamite, which was pretty much a cultural phenomenon when I was a teenager.

From what I’ve found out so far some Nick animated series are slotted to appear in the movie, including Rugrats, Aaahh! Real Monsters, Ren and Stimpy, and Rocko’s Modern Life. Apparently the general idea of the movie will be something like Who Framed Roger Rabbit? with all the characters interacting in some way. Now when I heard this I immediately imagined all the Rugrats babies smoking cigars and grumbling about betting on the ponies while on break from the episodes because of Baby Herman.

The news of this movie comes on the heels of Nickelodeon announcing that they will be having a new programming series called The Splat, which will focus on 90’s Nick shows. As a 90’s Nick kid I am super excited to see what is going to happen in this movie and what the actual plot will be.
