Spending the night in the woods with friends should be full of fun and s’mores, right? Not in the haunting woods of Croak!

Three friends, Aubrey, Nick, and Tim, decide to go on a weekend camping trip, but nothing goes as planned. From the very beginning Nick and Tim learn that Aubrey has never gone camping. Then Nick leads the group deep into the woods and reveals that he left the tent in the car. Nick and Tim get into a fight about whether to stay or go and Aubrey winds up breaking the tie by saying that they should stay. Around the glow of a fire Nick reveals the curse of the woods. While Aubrey and Tim insist this sounds ridiculous, suddenly a figure appears. What is this strange being in the woods? What will happen to our trio of campers? Find out Wednesday August 24th!

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this comic for what feels like ages. It was previewed in Make Mine Indie #1 and finally getting to read the first issue was just what I had hoped for. While initially this story seems very Cabin in the Woods so much more happens to our main characters. I was not expecting the reveal at the end of this issue and I am ridiculously excited to see what happens next. I also love the art in Croak. It adds to the eerie darkness of the woods and is just exceptional.
