My name is Sam Winchester and today is Thanksgiving. My older brother Dean wrote me this letter. If you knew Dean, he’s not one to express his feelings. So, I’d like to share his letter with you.
Author’s Note: This letter is fictional and is a product of the writer’s imagination. It has not appeared or been mentioned on The CW’s Supernatural.
You know I’m not one for words, I think actions speak louder than words. And I’m not into the sappy sentiments. But if I don’t say these things in a letter, I know I would never say them to you.
We’ve never been the traditional family. After losing mom and fighting evil, we never had time to be. Saving people, hunting things was not only the family business, it became our lives. We had no time for holidays, our Thanksgiving was a bucket of extra crispy. But for me that didn’t matter as long as I had you. I told you once and I’ll tell you again “There ain’t no me if there ain’t no you.” I know I’ve said things that hurt you and caused you to doubt what you mean to me but I swear on my love for you, mom and dad, that there will never be ANYONE I put ahead of you. You once accused me of choosing an angel and a vampire over you but that’s not true. Cas and Benny’s place in my life doesn’t hold a candle to yours. Hell, I’d pick you over dad and you know how I felt about the man. Now, we have mom back and although I’ve never been a praying man because to me, praying is the same as begging, I thank Chuck that she’s here.
So Happy Thanksgiving Sammy. And check the oven for the special treat I cooked for us. But don’t eat it without me because this time I FORGOT THE PIE, so I gotta make a run.
Love you bro,
