For 16 years, viewers and fans have loved actress Kristin Kreuk. She first appeared on our television screen as Lana Lang on TheWB/CW series Smallville. And recently, she played beloved heroine Detective Catherine Chandler on The CW’s Beauty and the Beast.
The Canadian actress has played strong female characters who have relied more on their brains and skill than their beauty. Smallville’s Lana Lang was no shrinking violet. She could hold her own against the bad guys who targeted her and especially stood up to Lex Luther. And Beauty and the Beast’s Catherine is a capable cop who doesn’t need Vincent to ride in and rescue her.
Even before The CW aired the series finale of Beauty and The Beast, fans worldwide have been actively campaigning to find the show a new home on another viewing platform. This is a saga that has endeared itself to many and a large part is due to Kreuk.
This mixture of beauty, strength and charm is the trifecta that keeps fans coming back for more and following Kristin Kreuk on whatever project she happens to be working on at the time.
As Kristin Kreuk celebrates her birthday December 30, I want to thank her on behalf of the legions of fans who appreciates the contributions she’s given to our favorite shows. I know I speak for a multitude of fans when I say that I’m eager to see Kristin Kreuk’s next project but I’ll never forget Catherine Chandler (or Lana Lang for that matter).
