There will be a reunion for the epic miniseries North and South.
North and South, based on the novel by John Jakes of the same name, first aired as An ABC Novel for Television on Sunday, November 3, 1985. The miniseries told the story of the friendship of northern George Hazard and southern Orry Main in the two decades leading up to the Civil War and how their lives and families become intertwined.
Fans of North and South will be thrilled to learn that a few of the actors involved in the miniseries have been invited to participate in a reunion taking place on February 10-11, 2018 that was commissioned by Butterfly Productions for The Hollywood Show. The reunion will be held at the Westin LAX in Los Angeles, CA.

Terri Garber, who played Ashton Main Huntoon, tweeted the news:
I feel this reunion was a long time coming and is a great way to honor the legacy for what I believe to be the greatest miniseries of all time. I remember watching North and South as a twenty year old history buff when it originally aired back in 1985. I continue to be captivated by the powerful story and majestic production value of this film. The script, acting, costume, music…everything was top notch and paid tribute to historical story telling master John Jakes.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Terri Garber in 2015. She shared her memories of this project and what it still means to her. North and South holds a special place in my heart as well and is my favorite movie. This reunion will be a once in a lifetime event. My only wish is that Patrick Swayze, who played the pivotal role of Orry Main had lived to attend. Here’s to Patrick and everyone involved in the making of North and South. And thanks to Butterfly Productions and The Hollywood Show for helping to make this happen.
UPDATE: Lesley-Anne Down, Lewis Smith, Mitchell Ryan and Stan Shaw have been added to the list of cast attendees. Unfortunately, Genie Francis and Jonathan Frakes are unable to attend.
