It Came Out on a Wednesday #1 @ALTERNACOMICS Review from @kleffnotes

Alterna debuts the bi-monthly double sized anthology, It Came Out on a Wednesday this month. This collection will feature horror, sci-fi, and fantasy work from up-and-coming creators, interviews, contests, and a grab bag of other fun and mysterious things over the course of the series. In this first issue there are some new features as well as the return of some Alterna favorites.

We kick off with space battles in Friday Arvo, then move into a brief story about the perils of stealing from the voodoo priestess in Hexed, which just shows you how diverse the stories within this anthology will be. There is a heart reaching story of love lost that is drawn in beautiful pastels titled The End of a Beginning, which is a wonderful one shot story. We also get to see some of Mr. Crypt and an introduction story to the series The Wicked Righteous. I was also pleased to see a story from a previously anthology that tells an interesting superhero story, The Maddening Sound.

There are even more stories within It Came Out on a Wednesday and I think this will be a wonderful work for those who are interested in looking into Alterna Comics and finding some diverse indie creators. Fans of Alterna Comics will enjoy this double sized collection, while readers who have been debating about checking out the publisher can use it as a way to investigate what they produce.
