General Hospital Fantasy Events announced on Thursday, February 14, 2019 the addition of Kathleen Gati (Liesl) and John J. York (Mac) joining Lynn Herring (Lucy), Michael Easton (Finn) and Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden) for the event in Philadelphia on May 4, 2019 benefitting Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
Gati and York replaces actors Wes Ramsey (Peter) and Josh Swickward (Chase) who were unable to attend. Sally Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation’s mission is “to fight for those who are fighting, speak for those who have fallen silent and provide for those working towards the end of ovarian cancer.”
I support cancer charities as my mom Arlene passed away on May 10, 2005 from cervical cancer. In addition to being a writer and Marketing Manager for The Nerdy Girl Express, I have been employed in the field of clinical trials since May 13, 2013. Having the opportunity to work alongside those in clinical research means a great deal to me. And I think the work done by Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation is commendable.
Additionally, I have been a fan of John J. York since he played Eric Cord in Fox’s Werewolf back in 1987. I met John J. York at the World on Wheels event in Philadelphia in 1988 and later in 1991 in Studio City, CA at a General Hospital Fan Club Luncheon. And anyone who follows this site knows of my support and admiration of Kathleen Gati. I’ve written numerous articles about her and the character of Liesl. She is an extremely gifted actress that reminds me of those of old Hollywood circa 1930s-1950s from the MCM, 20th Century Fox and Universal movies I grew up watching with my mom and twin sister Tracy.
