The Book of Awesome Women Writers Book Review from @kleffnotes

For Women’s History month I will be taking some time to highlight some works that focus on women in a variety of fields. The first book in this collection of reviews is The Book of Awesome Women Writers. As someone who loves reading this book seemed like a fantastic way to grow my knowledge and possibly my reading list. Written by Becca Anderson, who has made an appearance on The Nerdy Girl Express a few other times, this book will give you some insight into some prestigious women in the field of writing.

Starting all the way at the beginning of recorded writing and moving all the way into current bestsellers, this book examines women who have made a name for themselves in the literary world. By examining a variety of women through a compilation style work this book examines a number of women who have shared their stories and have changed the lives of many. Including women you might recognize like Judy Blume, Maya Angelou, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, and Anne Frank, as well as women from farther back in time like The Muses, Mergery Kempe, and Lady Mary Chudleigh. Moving through time this work creates a great guide for those who love reading.

I always find Becca Anderson’s books easy to read and they add a great deal of enjoyment to my day. In this book I was able to indulge my love of both history and literature while finding out more about women who have blazed a trail in this field. Even for writers I knew a bit about prior to reading this book I felt as though I was learning something new. If you are a lover of literature I think you would enjoy this book.
