Dead Rock Stars is the fifth novel from Guy Mankowski and examines the topic of grief through a story that is presented through two different interwoven narrators. With the primary focus being on Jeff, the younger brother of Emma, we see her journal acting as a means for him to continue to connect with her. This story shows how familial love can continue in your life through objects when it might not be possible for that person to physically be with you.

The Bi Line: #BiWeek and Characters I Love from @kleffnotes

I almost missed getting an article out for Bi Week since my life is a bit extra busy at the moment, but we made it. A bi is here and she is writing in her bi titled article series for Bi Week, boom! Mad Love Book Review from @kleffnotes

I have been on a bit of a Harley Quinn reading kick. You can blame Birds of Prey and then the binging of the animated Harley Quinn series for that. During this I was gifted a copy of Mad Love by Paul Dini and Pat Cadigan, which not only had me smiling because Dini writes exceptional Harley, but because just the cover of this book is a delight. I wanted to share my thoughts, especially since I think fans of Harley in her various incarnations in media will all enjoy this book that examines how Harley Quinn came to be.

Fractured Book Review from @kleffnotes

Mason Vance is someone that seems to live the perfect life. He is the best quarterback in New York and it is assumed that he will make it into the NFL. The issue is that when an injury alters his ability to play, he will have to cope with the thought that the future he thought was definitely going to happen may need to change. As he works through all of these changes and his thoughts he focuses on someone else. Fractured is a story of change and how you contend with emotional and physical trauma.

When New York City first went into quarantine many people found themselves struggle to continue their creative efforts, but not long-time collaborators Nicole Martinez and Anna Stacy. They took this as means to combine reflections on what was happening globally with a new art form. The friends had previous worked on writing, producing, and acting together in several theatrical productions in the past six years and when they could no longer work on their current projects that focused their energy on creating an entirely online and remotely produced web series that was titled, Dead-Enders.

Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica Comic Review from @kleffnotes

I think my love of Harley Quinn is something that I am pretty vocal about on The Nerdy Girl Express, especially my love for the pairing between Harley and Ivy. Another thing I very much love is Riverdale. The show has always been a blend of horror, camp, and teen drama. What I never knew I needed is a blend between Harlivy and the characters I’ve grown to love in Riverdale. Paul Dini, who is one of few comic creators I have known by name for a very long time, has brought this to life in the comic Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica and as soon as I started reading I was smitten.
