I had the chance to chat author Bob Batchelor about his love for Marvel and his upcoming book, Stan Lee: The Man Behind Marvel. He shared the surprising place you can find Stan Lee’s archive as well as what he thought about the new Spider-Man movie. Bob’s Batchelor’s Stan Lee: The Man Behind Marvel provides an insightful look into not only the titular man himself, but also the complex and captivating world of Marvel Comics growth and evolution over the years. I was lucky a couple days ago when my schedule opened up and I was able to go and see the latest marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, in 3D. I had really enjoyed the first one, but admittedly was a bit apprehensive for the second installment. Sequels are almost never as good/funny as the original and the first GotG was both. How did the second volume stack up? Read on below to find out. Also no spoilers except a few pics, very general impressions about the characters and what happened to them during the film. I have to admit to something before this review gets started. I’m not a Doctor Strange fan. For all my love of fantasy and magic, I have never been into his character in the comics. So going into this movie, I felt like a blank slate. I know only the basics of his story, powers, and where this may be leading in the Marvel movies. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by how much I did enjoy it, but no movie is perfect. Read on for my thoughts, concerns and all the spoilers.
