In the final issue of Sonitus, Ben has made it to the attic of the horrifying house from his childhood. Once there he must contend with the demons that lurk within the shadows and determine just what power this house holds over him.

As he moves through the piles of broken items in the attic, Ben begins to remember a time from long ago when he was coming to this house with someone else. He can smell the storm and his mind suddenly fills with the terrible noise. Monsters and beasts surround him as he has to find the source of his pain. This terrifying story comes to an end in a beautifully drawn and melancholy way.

I have absolutely loved this series and the ending was filled with both dark and frightening elements, but also a light presence that balanced everything around it. If you haven’t read Sonitus yet you could definitely check out this final issue just to enjoy the art and the work in the finale. It all feels very Lovecraftian and I would definitely recommend it to horror fans, though possibly to slightly more mature readers, but I’ll leave that up to the discretion of the folks buying the comics.
