Patricia Bethune Takes Home Outstanding Guest Performer Daytime Emmy for Playing #GH ‘s Mary Pat via @stacyamiller85 @patriciabethune @GeneralHospital #GeneralHospital #GH56 #DaytimeEmmys

Mary Pat Ingles caused Carly all sorts of grief when Mrs. Corinthos was remanded to Ferncliff.

Ms. Ingles was Ferncliff’s version of Nurse Ratchet. She developed an immediate dislike and resentment of “Caroline” and was determined to show who was boss by crushing Carly’s (Laura Wright) strong will. Fortunately, Jason (Steve Burton) busted Carly out of Ferncliff before it was too late.

Mary Pat made the biggest mistake of her life (which lead to her death) when she decided to blackmail Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) with what she knew about the patient he was keeping at the mental hospital for the criminally insane. She was unaware that she was actually talking with Dr. Collins’ crazy serial killer twin Ryan Chamberlain (also Lindstrom). Before you could say “Oops, you’re dead” Ryan stabbed Nurse Ingles and decapitated her body, leaving her head in an apple bobbing station at The Floating Rib and the rest of her body at Ava’s (Maura West) gallery.

Bethune is a night time television veteran of Longmire, Mad Men, True Blood and Desperate Housewives. She’s also appeared on Grey’s Anatomy in the recurring role of Nurse Ginger. But General Hospital fans can agree she made Mary Pat an unforgettable character. So glad that the National Television Academy of Arts and Sciences recognized her work with the Outstanding Guest Performer Daytime Emmy.

Well done and congratulations Patricia!
