The Summer I Drowned Book Review from @kleffnotes

Olivia Cathart has just returned home to Caldwell Beach after being away for five years. After almost drowning she chose to stay away, but now wants to try and face her fears and take more risks. She will push herself to go swimming and also to open up her heart. The Summer I Drowned is a book that will keep you guessing as Olivia finds her plans for the summer constantly evolving.

This summer is meant to be a carefree time for rekindling old friendships, especially with her best friends Keely and Miles. What startles Olivia though is that the sleepy town is seemingly very different. No one and nothing appears to be what it seems. When crimes start threatening her already fragile state she finds herself involves in a game of cat and mouse, with her only refuge being West, Miles disowned brother. Even he though can’t answer all of the questions that Olivia has, especially whether she is really in danger or if this is all something in her mind.

Taylor Hale’s book from Wattpad Books is her first novel and is a great story to debut with. You will constantly find yourself guessing at just what is happening with Olivia and whether anything she experiences can be believed. This is the sort of story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and even make you a little jumpy as you experience everything alongside the main protagonist.
