The Pearls of Wisdom Book Review from @kleffnotes

Sheri D. Engler presents the magical world of Bandalay in her allegorical adventure, The Pearls of Wisdom: A Fairy Tale Guide to Life’s Magic Secrets for All Ages. The story focuses on Princess Shalimar, who is born into the world of Bandalay with magical gifts. As she grows up she begins to see the world in beautiful ways, but there are also tragedies that push her to grow and mature into a powerful queen.

The story of Shalimar begins with the arrival of a Birth Angel in Bandalay who announces that after many years the king and queen have finally had a child. Their offspring though is not just any child, but rather she is blessed with gifts that she will be forced to understand and grow with. Over the course of the story we watch as Shalimar is awakened to magical entities and her own magical powers. As she grows up she finds wonder in the world around her, but sadness creeps in when life changing tragedies occur that she never would have expected.

The Pearls of Wisdom is a fairy tale that shows the growth of a child into a strong woman through her understanding of not only herself, but of how to use the gifts she has been given in this life. Not only is the book designed to be read by readers of any age, Engler creates a lead character that is exceptionally relatable. Through Shalimar readers are able to see how to take moments in your life and turn them into chances for growth. Personally I believe that this book would make for a perfect read for parents to their children. There are also lovely illustrations of Shalimar and the magical beings that she meets. Engler is also donating all of the proceeds from her book sales to the Angel Whispers Foundation.
