There’s nothing worse for a parent then losing a child.

On The Bold and The Beautiful, Hope and Liam Spencer (Annika Noelle and Scott Clifton) are experiencing that pain. On the 8000th episode that aired Friday, January 4, 2018 The Spencers learned their baby daughter Elizabeth Avalon Spencer didn’t survive birth and the couple were devastated . They loved baby Beth and eagerly anticipated her birth and the joy she’d bring to their lives.

Liam didn’t make it to the island in time for the birth and Hope passed out and didn’t see her daughter coming into the world. And coincidentally another young mother’s baby was stillborn. That coupled with the fact that Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady) owes a lot of money to some dangerous characters who are threatening his daughter Zoe paints a picture of one of the oldest soap ploys: the baby switch. It seems likely that Reese will use Hope and Liam’s baby to get out of his financial debt. Are we looking at a blackmarket adoption? And with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) recently talking about adopting a baby so her daughter Kelly would grow up with a sister, the odds are likely that she will end up with Hope’s not so dead baby.

Meanwhile, preview shows the Forrester family coming together to support Hope and Liam in their grief and loss:

Don’t miss one exciting minute!

The Bold and The Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
