Podcasts have basically taken over the world. Okay, maybe not really, but with so many podcasts in the world I wanted to highlight some of the things you can listen to that are also ClexaCon connected. You can listen to these while you are traveling to the convention or you can start binging now so that you can get caught up and maybe even attend a live taping in Las Vegas.
Three of the podcasts on this list I have actually featured before, but I wanted to bring them up again for those who might not have been listening to them. The first is the official ClexaCon podcast hosted by Dana Piccoli, UnCONventional. This podcast is a bit sporadic with new episodes, but there are typically at least one a month up until ClexaCon. Each episode features people who will be at the convention and also shares details about the convention. Dana is a great host and she is so engaging with all of her guests. If you are looking for some insight into ClexaCon you can give it a listen anywhere you listen to podcasts, though I often use the Podbean site. A new podcast that I am making some time to check out before the convention is Cheers & Queers. This podcast is hosted by Isake Smith and Kirya Traber, Isake is actually part of a panel I highlighted in another ClexaCon feature. For their podcast these two self identified Black queer femmes sit and chat about basically whatever strikes their fancy over a drink. You can also listen to them wherever you listen to podcasts, though I have provided a Stitcher link.
Two podcasts I’ve been listening to since they started, and continue to listen to weekly, are Lez Hang Out and Coming Out with Lauren and Nicole. Both of these podcasts will be recording live episodes at ClexaCon this year and I am hoping to attend both of them. Lez Hang Out is hosted by Leigh Holmes Foster and Ellie Brigida and for their live event they will be doing a new episode of their Should’ve Been Gay series. Coming Out with Lauren and Nicole focuses on coming out stories and typically they have a guest who shares their story. In their first episode Lauren Flans and Nicole Pacent shared their own stories and the podcast actually started because of ClexaCon 2018. I am excited to see who they might have for their live recording and I cannot wait to see these women recording in person. You can find both of these podcasts wherever you listen to podcasts, I have included links you can use. There are number of other podcasts also recording at ClexaCon that you might enjoy as well.
