The Binge Watchers Guide: Doctor Who Book Review from @kleffnotes

Mackenzie Flohr celebrates the world of Doctor Who by showcasing the most recent Doctor as portrayed by Jodie Whittaker. For fans of the long running series, whether you are dedicated to old seasons or new seasons, this book is a sort of love letter to what makes the series so great. Flohr loves Doctor Who and her passion is what makes this book such a lovely read.

The Binge Watchers Guide: Doctor Who is the first in a series planned by Riverdale Avenue Books that will showcase different series. As a series, Doctor Who makes for the perfect introduction for a binge watcher. With such a rich history and so many different doctors in existence, Flohr brings readers up to speed by explaining the history and then delving into the most recent and history making Doctor. Jodie Whittaker is the first ever female Doctor in the entire run of the series. Flohr shares the excitement that she felt when it was revealed in an early trailer that the new lead to the series would be a woman and as the book continues she examines her first season and reviews each of the episodes. Beyond just reviews, she also discusses characters and creatures who make an appearance in the series and some of the elements that arose with the announcement of a female Doctor.

The main content of the book then ends with interviews with other fans of the series and in particular, Jodie Whittaker’s portrayal of the famous Time Lord. These include interviews with Wendy Abrahams, a Jodie Whittaker Impressionist, Will Brooks, Doctor Who Cover Designer, and Alisa Stern, Doctor Puppet. If you are looking for more Doctor Who fun there are lists of comics, video games, magazines, and even conventions. Flohr has created the perfect book for Whovians, especially those who are curious about Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor. As a fan of Doctor Who myself I really enjoyed this read and my favorite part in particular were the interviews. You can get your copy of The Binge Watchers Guide: Doctor Who today.
