The Bold and The Beautiful returned with new episodes starting on Monday, July 20, 2020.

Like other fans of The Bold and The Beautiful, I missed seeing new episodes. I was eager to find what happened after Wyatt (Darin Brooks) walked into the beach house. Would he learn about Sally’s (Courtney Hope) deception?

The biggest challenge facing the daytime drama was how to keep those working on the soap safe from COVID-19 while getting episodes filmed.

Denise Richards (Shauna) spoke with Access about the strategies used to film scenes while adhering to the established safety guidelines:

Watching the episodes, I could see the difference in them from the pre-COVID-19 ones. In the hospital scenes, Bill (Don Diamont), Liam (Scott Clifton), Ridge (Ronn Moss), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and new character Dr. Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) all stood in distance from each other. Other tricks as mentioned by Richards in her interview were also used.

I must commend the actors, directors, camera crew and everyone involved for delivering quality episodes. I’m sure filming time was doubled due to limitations and restrictions faced because of the safety precautions taken for COVID-19. Nonetheless, The Bold and The Beautiful worked hard to give viewers what they’ve come to expect (and love) from the thirty-three year old daytime drama.
