Crafting with @carmillaseries : More Silas Orientation Week Fun from @kleffnotes ( @KindaTV_ )

How’s your Silas Orientation Week going Creampuffs? Last night we got to experience our first YouNow Carmilla/KindaTV event with ‘So You Think You Can Silas’ hosted by the always lovely Natasha Negovanlis. Talented Creampuffs, both old and new, wowed me with their ability to answer trivia questions under pressure. I was sweating just thinking I might get picked from the list. You can watch Part One and Part Two of the event on the KindaTV YouTube channel. Now with the week at the halfway point I thought I’d share some fun Carmilla themed crafts with all of you. Perry just looked really awesome in that scene from the trailer so I decided to make the crafty Dean the featured image for this crafty article.

The first craft I thought of immediately is sock puppets. Don’t you want to perform your own beautifully tragic, yet comedic, rendition of Carmilla’s past like Laura did in season one? Now I’m sure you could craft your own sock puppet with no help from me, but I thought as your unofficial orientation guide that I’d give you a link to a WikiHowTo just in case you want to make sure you have all the right stuff. If you’d also like a stage for your Carmilla sock puppet theater I found a link for a quick and easy stage on kidspot.com. Don’t let that fool you, sock puppets are for people of all ages, especially Creampuffs looking to stage a Gothic lesbian vampire drama.

The second craft I have for you involves a lot of creativity on your part, Carmilla’s bracelet for Laura. Now this will involve some trial and error to get it just the way you want it. I suggest making a simple loop bracelet out of leather, adding some beads, a feather, and either fabric or a thickish plastic to replicate the bat wing. I found a quick guide for a basic bracelet on trinketsinbloom.com that can help you start.

The third craft I thought of is inspired by Kirsch from season two. Though you never want to be the stag in the Adonis Festival, you can still rock some cool antlers. I searched high and low for a good tutorial and found a full diy deer costume on the website, Flattery. The antler headband looks really cool and pretty easy. To get the full Kirsch effect I suggest spray painting the antlers gold and adding some leather bits.

Don’t forget today is Silas Sorting Quiz Day. You’ll get to find out just what group you’d be in at Silas, like Hogwarts Houses, but more collegiate. Anyone else wondering if they’ll be an obstreperous bro of Zeta Omega Mu?

If you have any other crafty Carmilla ideas let me know in the comments or on Twitter, @thenerdygirlexp.
