Interview with Jessii Vee from @kleffnotes

Rounding out our interviews with the cast of Running With Violet, I had the chance to talk with Jessii Vee. The actor and YouTuber plays Frankee, the slightly witchy babysitter from Season One who has started to find new skills this season. She was one of my favorite characters in the first season and I was excited to see she was back for more one liners and epic levels of snark. I got to chat with her about this new season and what she’s up to outside of the series. Continue reading “Interview with Jessii Vee from @kleffnotes”

PVRIS “Death Of Me” Has Music Fans Dying for More from @MarzyMartian

…And just like that, the music scene of 2019 has been revived and stabilized.

Following up with their 2017 AWKOHAWNOH (All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell) sophomore album, PVRIS has renovated their look, sound, and record deal. Once signed to Rise Records, the group has a new deal with Warner Music. I personally believe this will give them more space to grow into their defining sound, as well as give them a bigger platform and spotlight, both well deserved and earned.

Insomnia Web Series Review from @kleffnotes

The darkly comedic web series Insomnia drops the final episode of the limited series today and to get you ready for the final episodes I wanted to share my thoughts on the show so far. Set in New York City, Insomnia follows bisexual, Indian American writer Nikhil Sharma as he tries to figure out his life. Shown through single camera, the story follows Nikhil in his secret work as a male escort where he is confronted by issues of race, sexuality, loneliness, and just general lack of sleep. The series was inspired by a brief real life encounter when creator and star of the show, Vishaal Reddy, was asked by someone in NYC if he had ever considered being an escort. After seeing a lack of positive representation in the media he took this idea and evolved it into Insomnia. Continue reading “Insomnia Web Series Review from @kleffnotes”

The Bi Line: Barbelle S2 Follow-Up and Bi in Bitter S2 from @kleffnotes

This week I am delving into some web series that I have already previously discussed in some capacity on The Nerdy Girl Express. I absolutely adore both I Put the Bi in Bitter and Barbelle, both of which I covered in Fangirl Freakouts videos, and second seasons of both released earlier this year. I know I’m a bit behind in talking about them, especially since I covered roughly the first half of Barbelle Season Two a while back, but I am here and ready to gush. Fangirl Freakouts: Barbelle S2 Eps 1-6 ( @BARBELLE_SERIES @KindaTV_ ) from @kleffnotes

I filmed this video before the Barbelle finale and am focusing on episodes 1 through 6, since those were the episodes out when I did get a chance to film. I am planning a follow-up video to chat the rest of the season a little bit later in May. In case you haven’t seen it I also had a chance to ask the creators and stars of the show, Gwenlyn Cumyn and Karen Knox, some questions about everything Season Two. While this isn’t technically a My Kinda Recaps, think of it as a bit of a blast from the past. Fangirl Freakouts: iZombie S5 Brain Food Snack Guide from @kleffnotes

iZombie is back!! While I am excited to see new episodes, I’m going into this season sad to see it end. While typically I would do a specific recipe for the first episode of the season I’m doing things a little bit different this time. I have your snacking guide for the debut episode of Season Five and throughout the season I’ll be suggesting either pre-made food items or recipes you can try out for Brain Food. Enjoy! Fangirl Freakouts: Sam and Pat Are Depressed ( @_UndeadBurrito_ ) from @kleffnotes

Sam and Pat are Depressed season two is well under way and while I previously did a feature focusing on the new season, I wanted to spend a little more time delving into some elements, primarily guests, that I didn’t in that article. This series is a such an important work, not only for the focus it gives to mental health, but also for the inclusion of an asexual character. You can find Sam and Pat Are Depressed on Stareable and Seeka TV now, but soon it’ll be on YouTube. #ClexaCon 2019 Recap ( @ClexaCon )from @kleffnotes

ClexaCon 2019 is over and we’ve all left the bright lights of Las Vegas behind to return to our normal every day lives. Typically after a major trip or event I film a recap video, but with the number of topics connected to this year’s ClexaCon I believe an article will be a better vessel for covering everything in a clear and detailed way. This is not a short article and does include some more personal elements to the weekend outside of the convention itself. Continue reading “#ClexaCon 2019 Recap ( @ClexaCon )from @kleffnotes”
