“Waiting In The Wings” from Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure received a 2020 Daytime Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Original Song in a Children’s, Young Adult, or Animated Program.
When the Daytime Emmy Nominations for 2020 were announced on Thursday, May 21, 2020, Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure also received nominations recognizing its achievement in casting, writing, music direction and composition and direction.
Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure (title changed from Tangled The Series after Season One) follows the story of Princess Rapunzel, the character introduced in the 2010 feature film Tangled.
The series continues after the conclusion of Tangled: Before Ever After finding Rapunzel adjusting to her role as Princess of Corona, getting answers to the mystery of her hair and pursuing her destiny.
One of the characters aiding Rapunzel is Cassandra. We learn that Cassandra is not only Rapunzel’s lady in waiting but also her friend. Although she supports Rapunzel’s destiny quest, Cassandra often feels overshadowed by Raps (her nickname for Rapunzel).
“Waiting In The Wings” is a ballad that expresses Cassandra’s emotions at being sidelined. Anyone watching Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure know that after singing this song, Cassandra and Rapunzel’s friendship faces its biggest challenge. Cassandra pursues what she believes is her own destiny and it leads her down a dark path. She becomes Rapunzel’s nemesis, betrays those who care about her and almost destroys Corona.
Eden Espinosa’s vocal talents allows her to reach the depth of any song. With “Waiting In The Wings,” you want Cassandra to have her time to shine.

“Waiting In The Wings” is a powerfully written and performed piece. Just like all the songs in Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, the lyrics in “Waiting In The Wings” perfectly captured Cassandra’s emotional conflict.
Congratulations Disney and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure!
