Did someone say tye dye CAKE!?!

Hey guys, so yesterday I made a tye dye rainbow cake. Everyone loves cake, including us nerdy girls, so I thought I’d share how I made it. It’s the perfect snack for tonight’s rewatch hehe.

Well, first I bought two boxes of cake mix, one chocolate, one vanilla. Any brand will do so get your favorite and grab some food coloring. Now I prefer the gel food coloring because it doesn’t dilute the mix. Don’t forget to get icing, any flavor will do, I used cream cheese icing as it is my favorite, but you don’t have to use that kind. I made a double layered cake, so I prepared my two cake pans, sprayed a little Pam in them and set them aside. I mixed my chocolate cake according to the directions, poured half into each pan. I mixed up the vanilla cake according to it’s directions, then separated it into four small bowls.

I grabbed my food coloring and put a different color in each bowl and mixed it up really good. I wanted more darker colors so I added a little extra of each color. One by one I poured each color on top of each other onto the chocolate cake.

Follow the directions on the boxes for the degrees and bake times, now I would suggest cooking it just a few minutes longer as you have extra cake in each pan. When the cakes are done baking let them cool completely before removing them from the pans. Now this is where I got the frosting ready, stirring it up to make it easier to spread. While I was doing this I thought hey let me add some food coloring to this icing and make my cake really pretty, it being Halloween, I chose orange. I removed the first cake and placed it upside down on a plate and frosted the top. I removed the other cake and placed it right side up on top of the first one then frosted the top and sides.

Now cut, eat, enjoy!!
