Doreen Anderson is certainly not the most dangerous prisoner at Wentworth but she seems to always end up in the middle of dangerous situations due to her associations with some of the more tougher female inmates.
This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen Wentworth, please do not continue reading.
Who is Doreen Anderson? She’s a woman who’s life sped out of control. Her drug use cost her baby’s life and sent her to Wentworth Prison for Reckless Endangerment. Fortunately, Doreen has Liz Birdsworth to look after her. Liz takes Doreen under her wing and is as much a mother to her as she is a friend.
Doreen had the opportunity to be a mother herself taking care of Kyiah, the daughter of drug addict Toni but after a prison drug bust, Kyiah was removed from Doreen’s care.
Being a part of Franky Doyle’s crew (though not in the thick of Franky’s drug operation) has made Doreen question her actions more than one time. She’s been forced to go against what she’s known is right.
But Doreen has a goodness about her and cares about her fellow prisoners. Governor Erica Davidson makes her a prison Peer Worker (a liason between the prisoners and the staff. And also an unofficial counselor to the prisoners). Franky continues to effect Doreen’s life in negative ways by her drug trafficking. Doreen loses the chance to see Nash, an inmate at a neighboring male prison who she has a love affair with and also the prison garden project.
Will Doreen ever break free of those at Wentworth who are holding her down?
