After a long and harsh holiday break, the hit zombie show iZombie is back tonight at it’s regular time, 9:00PM/ET on the CW. We here at The Nerdy Girl Express can’t wait for our favorite show to come back on and figure out what’s going to happen to our favorite characters. Let’s recap before we watch ‘Method Head.’
Liv’s world has been turned upside down again because of not one but two break ups in her life. First her and Major are on the outs again after his inability to really deal with her zombie-ism and her thinking they are just too different to be together. It was heartbreaking for both of them, but will it last? The feelings are still there after all…
The other break up and possible biggest shocker to the iZombie fans was seeing Piggy and the Brain part ways. After Liv’s personality changes have took a toll on a still in the dark Clive over a season and a half, her latest superhero persona seemed to finally be the straw on the proverbial undead camel’s back. Clive has ended their team up and possibly their friendship. We were also left wondering what will Liv do now that she doesn’t have an outlet to help her ‘food?’ The last time we saw her like this, she was a hot mess of a zombie at the beginning of the show. Will her and Clive be able to patch things up?
Ravi has been keeping busy as well, our favorite tall doctor (with fantastic hair and a British accent) has been working on that cure with his favorite lab rat Hope. Previously we had seen her be cured, but now she has reverted back to her zombie ways. Ravi’s cure is no good and he’ll have to start from scratch again. (Seems like a theme for our favorite characters doesn’t it?) I’m sure this will have him down for awhile, but Ravi is our own hope in the show and I don’t have any doubt that he will rally from this.
The biggest complication really is the fact that since Hope reverted back, we can bet that Major and Blaine will also revert. I think Blaine will like this outcome as he seems to miss being a zombie (except the eating other food part-he does seem to love doing that) and it will help his zombie business to be undead again. Major is another story. He did not take well to becoming a zombie the first time around and even being around Liv now made him uncomfortable. How will he deal with being one himself?
That complication becomes a full blown problem for Major when you realize that he is still working for Max Rager. If they find out he’s a zombie they will either put him down or make him into their own lab rat. Neither possibility sounds good. Major has enough problems with Gilda and him not killing the zombies, but instead freezing them for later. Major is going to slip up sooner or later and it will be bad when he does.
Clive has been put off by suspecting zombies could be real, for now, by Liv and Blaine’s sabotaging. I doubt that will really be the end of it. Clive is a great detective and he has his sort of girlfriend Dale on the case too. We still don’t know much about her or what her part will be in the show. I highly doubt the writers put her in as only Clive’s girlfriend. She has a bigger part we have yet to see.
We also have the story line bringing all the others together, Peyton and Mr. Boss. We know its Mr. Boss’ utopium that was tainted and made zombies. We know that they are somehow connected to Max Rager. Blaine used to be on Mr. Boss’ payroll until he went into zombie business for himself. We also saw in the last episode that Blaine had an informant that is Mr. Boss’ lackey/body guard. Peyton is gathering evidence against him, but he already knows about it and has threatened her. Eventually all of this is going to come together and I have a feeling not everyone is going to make it out alive, and I don’t even mean in the zombie way.
I’m also hoping we see some head way with Liv and her family. The first season ended with her refusing to give blood to her brother after he was hit by the Meat Cute explosion. We found out in the first episode of season two that she and her family are very estranged because of that decision and we haven’t had a word about it since then. Will Liv end up telling them the truth? Will they be able to forgive her without the truth? Will they be able to forgive her with it? Everyone Liv has told has been reasonably good about her being a zombie, but that can’t always be the case. Peyton ran away, but when she came back she was fine with it. Major seemed to be fine once he was dating Liv, but even that couldn’t stop him from being uncomfortable with it. Will her family finally understand why she couldn’t give blood just to turn her away because they think she’s a monster, like Liv herself fears?
