#Galavant – Epic Battle Of The One True King via @stacyamiller85 @Omundson @GalavantABC

As the Jester sang It was The end of the new season an what end ending it was.

This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen the season finale episodes “Battle of The Three Armies” and “One True King to (Unite Us All)”, please do not continue reading.

So we got it, the epic battle between Hortencia, Valencia and the Zombie Army with a niffy recap song by the Jester.  It was great how the battle didn’t commence until the Jester finished his song. “That boy can sing”, Madalena stated before getting down to business.

The great thing about this battle were the three different leaders, each with a different purpose and determination: Isabella, Madalena and Galavant.  Then we have King Richard.  Galavant recognized Richard’s character growth to hero status, but Richard still doubted himself.  Out of all the characters in Galavant, King Richard is the one who has changed the most throughout the history of the series.  It started as Galavant’s journey but it will finish with Richard’s.

The battle itself was a well-choreographed feat.  Kudos to the writers and directors.  To be able to have a bloody battle with very minimal blood and sprinkled with humor, well done.

Isabella gives a rousing speech, than faces Madalena displaying moves that would make Xena: Warrior Princess proud.  Galavant gets the chance to tell Isabella he loves her and they are reunited.

King Richard and his oldest friend, Gareth also square off. Each vow not to destroy the other, reaffirming their friendship.

All the while, Madalena and Wormwood are watching the “spectator sport” will enjoying food and drink. Wormwood teaches her about the ‘D’Dew’ and then performs a spell to get the zombie army to turn on the other two armies

So now, the two armies join forces to conquer the undead third.

I loved how we got to see the depth of Richard and Gareth’s friendship since they were children.  It was particular refreshing  seeing Richard’s duo with his inner child in which they sang an ode to his quest to become a hero.

So, it’s Richard vs Wormwood, who it appears has slained Tad Cooper. Viewers observe Richard get elevated to the hero he was destined to be.  He honored his dead dragon and fought bravely and without fear.  Richard finally proved to be the One True King, a ruler worthy of the rule.  And thankfully, Tad Cooper survived.

Good truimphs over evil as Richard defeats Wormwood.  Galavant and Isabella marry (And we learned Galavant’s first name!).

Richard rushes off to stop Roberta for boarding a ship for The Island of Spinster. Passengers get chocolate and a cat (too funny).  Richard declares his love for Roberta and they kiss. So Spinster Island? No happening for Roberta!

Happily Ever Afters all around…sound like a Series Finale to me, but I hope not. Galavant deserves a Season 3.  Plus, viewers have to find out what happens now that Madalena is on the road to become a truly evil one.
