Sookie St. James was the best friend everyone wanted to have. She was quirky, loyal and the best cook. Lorelai couldn’t have started The Dragon Fly Inn without her help and support. She added a special spark to Gilmore Girls.

With the news of the Gilmore Girls Revival on Netflix, fans are wondering whether Melissa McCarthy will be able to reprise her role as Lorelai’s BFF.  McCarthy is a very busy actress with television and film projects occupying her schedule so it isn’t guaranteed she’ll be able to make a Stars Hollow appearance.

Additionally, according to a tweet Actress Melissa McCarthy sent out, she hasn’t been asked.

 

This is sad news for Gilmore Girls fans indeed. We’ll miss you Melissa and Sookie!
