The Princess and the Rover were on their own adventure in this week’s Shannara. New foes were introduced, as well as a new ally. It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster. This article contains SPOILERS!

What I love so much about this show, is the fact that they begin where they ended the previous episode. There’s no time gaps, like some shows are notorious for.

Last week ended with Cephalo cutting the rope as Wil was using the elfstones on the Reaper. The trio and demon fall. Wil wakes up in a stream next to a dead Reaper.

Amberle and Eretria are no where to be found. He sees a blood trail and follows it. It leads him to a young elf who’s missing one of his ears. He tells Wil his name is Perk and explains that elf hunters captured him and his partner and one of them cut his ear off. The hunters sell the ears to gnomes; the gnomes believe the ears have magical properties. Wil fears the hunters have the girls and sets off with the young elf to find them.

Meanwhile, Amberle awakes in another part of the stream, alone. She walks down the stream looking for Wil and Eretria. She stumbles upon some people upstream.

Eretria sneaks up on the elf and they quietly try to get away from the strangers, who they know are up to no good, they’re hunters. Unfortunately they’re spotted and the hunters give chase.

Amberle loses her sword in the chase. They barely manage to get away, really they fell but hey let’s give them some credit lol. The elf hunters head back to their camp, ya know to round up the others and track these girls down.

As the hunters are telling the crew about the royal elf (of course they found Amberle’s sword), Wil and Perk come up to the camp, hiding they hear the elf hunters plans.

They leave one hunter behind to guard the camp and the prisoner (Perk’s partner).

Now while that was happening Amberle and Eretria are trying to find cover for the night, so they can double back when night fell and find Wil. Instead, they fell down a hole. Which turned out to the ceiling of a building from our time now, long ago buried in the war. Now they gotta find a way out…

Back in the kingdom, the false King keeps fooling his sons. The princes actually still believe the Druid is evil via their “father”. After some talk and arguing the King sends both his sons alone to fight the Dagda Mor, not realizing they are so being played.

Allanon is in his magic healing cave, begging his master’s ghost to let him finally die. His master tells him his job isn’t done and he must continue on. Allanon feels as though he can’t do anything by himself.

The ghostly dude blows some sparkly magic and heals the Druid. Allanon wakes more powerful than ever with a badass new staff. He has a vision of the princes being slaughtered by the Dagda Mor. Off he goes to rescue the lads.

Wil and Perk ambush the hunter left behind, getting him to tell them where Wil’s friends were spotted. Wil was going to let the hunter go, however, Perk is really pissed about his ear and slits the hunters throat, which really upsets Wil. They release Perk’s partner; turns out its a dragon.

Amberle and Eretria talk and you can see that they care about each other. I see them as best friends. Though Eretria tries to deny it.

The hunters come down the hole after the Rover and Princess. They fight them off together-ish and steal ropes to get the hell out of there. Wouldn’t you know it, the chick hunter grabs Eretria.

Apparently, Eretria knows her and has hurt her, emotionally. They talk a little about how they know each other, I’m sure they’ll elaborate more in future episodes.

She takes them hostage and waits for more of her crew.

Arion and Ander make it to the Dagda Mor. Ander feels like something is wrong but Arion doesn’t and forges ahead.

Arion takes the Dagda Mor head on with Ander standing behind the Dagda Mor. He straight up tells the elf princes that their father is dead, the father that sent them there was a changling, he got them to bring him his sword, played them right into his hands. He then kills Arion.

Allanon then appears, yells some words, stomps his staff to the ground and creates a blast that throws Ander and the Dagda Mor back. It also break the seal that has Bandon’s mind locked up. Bandon awakens in his body…..and here’s some eye candy for ya 😆

The Dagda Mor tries to go after Ander, however, there’s a barrier between the two.

Back at the Kingdom, Ander tells the King what has happened. Then kills the false King. All hail King Ander!

Wil shows up at the last moment, with his new dragon rider friend. As they are flying up, the hunter shoots Eretria with an arrow and she falls. Amberle screams for them to go back, but no one listens.

No worries, she’s still alive, although captured. We all know Amberle will do whatever she can to rescue Eretria, and Wil will do anything to protect them both!

I am really enjoying this series. I have got to read the books. I think I’ll wait until after the season is over though.
