Every aspect of Crazy Ex Girlfriend is perfect.  What complements the smart writing is the great acting, with each member of the cast playing their roles perfectly.  The casting on this show is right on mark.

I’d like to talk about one of these casting gems: Ava Acres in the role of young Rebecca Bunch.

In learning more about Rebecca’s character, the show delved into her past.  So, viewers got to see Rebecca as a child.  Ava Acres plays young Rebecca with the charm that we’ve come to love from the adult character.

Rebecca Bunch is a complex character.  She’s extremely smart but with a vulnerability.  She often wears her heart on her sleeve.  It is said that our childhood determines who we grow up to be. On Crazy Ex Girlfriend, we’ve seen Rebecca’s childhood as portrayed by Ava.

I’m in awe watching Ava.  She has captured the nuances of Rachel Bloom and makes a perfect Rebecca.  I offer the highest praise to Ava Acres on her acting.  This young star is a perfect young Rebecca Bunch because she has bunches of talent! I want to thank everyone involved in her casting, kudos-well done.
