On Nashville, Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella) is an uber talented singer/songwriter. She is the daughter of the dynamic recording artists Rayna James (Connie Britton) and Deacon Clayboune (Charles Esten). She is a young girl on the verge of womanhood. But is she trying to grow up too fast?
When Cash (Jessy Schram) took her to a bar to sing, Maddie’s adult lyrics might have been too suggestive. A patron thought it was okay to touch her leg. It wasn’t. A sentiment shared by her dad Deacon. Maddie had lied to him that she was going to a coffee shop and when he witnessed the scene, Deacon was furious. He berated Cash for bringing Maddie to a bar and dragged his tearful daughter out of the place.
Maddie feels she is a woman and ready for an adult career. Her parents view it differently. Her mother Rayna James is worried she will make the same mistakes she did as a young recording artist. But Maddie’s mind is made up- she’s taken the steps to become legally emancipated and is considering a recording contract with Sony Records.
But is Rayna right- is Maddie too young? Or will a determined Maddie prove her wrong?
