One year ago on July 22, 2015, VH1 debuted a new reality series that was different from any that had ever aired on television.

The premise of the show was to have 12 sets of identical twins compete against each other into physical and mental challenges to determine which had a stronger “twin-tuition”, basically it was a ‘How well do you know your twin?’ The winning twin set would walk away with a whooping $222,222,22. The name of the show was Twinning.

Viewers met twins Annamarie and Ginamarie, Shawn and Claire, Skyler and Spencer, Adam and Cory, Kristina and Kamila, Torian and Tre, Ji and Le, Roxanne and Nicole, Bennett and Winston, Dylan and Taylor, Chris and Josh and MeMe and Key.

The events the twin set participated in caused the siblings mental stress. There were also disagreements between the contestants, who lived in matching blue and green houses throughout the show.

There were fan favorites and the ‘love-to-hate’ twin sets but it was a unique and interesting reality series.

As a twin myself, I was immediately hooked on Twinning and often played along with my twin, Tracy.  I can honestly say that although Tracy and I aren’t identical twins, we know each other very well and I have no doubt that if we had been on the show, we would have had an excellent chance at walking away with the prize money.

I also had the great pleasure of interviewing Annamarie and Ginamarie on their twin bond.

Twinning was a great reality show and I would love to see it return for another season. Maybe all of us twins out there need to send psychic vibes to the network powers-that-be!
